Metering and billing is a two-part process in which MAWASCO provides its customers with a certain amount of water for a given fee during a specific period of time. MAWASCO measures how much water is consumed by their account holders by using meter readings recorded at regular intervals within a billing cycle per region. When used in conjunction with per-unit rates as stipulated in the water-tariff guide, these readings determine the customer’s monthly bill and make it easier for customers to understand their charges and water usage.
In addition, metering helps MAWASCO to provide customers with information, typically regarding water demand and pricing. As water service providers, we combine the two parts of the two processes.
